Bluey, an Australian Cattle Dog, holds the Guinness record for longest life span at 29 years and 160 days. What an astounding feat, especially when considering the average lifespan for this particular breed is half that: 13-15 years!

Bluey Les Hall was born on June 7, 1910 and owned by Les and Esma Hall of Rochester, Victoria, Australia. Bluey was obtained as a puppy in 1910 and worked among cattle and sheep for nearly 20 years. After a long solid life, Bluey was ultimately put to sleep on November 14, 1939.

The significance of Bluey's life story is certainly one for the records. Most dogs live for 8–15 years, and authentic records of dogs living over 20 years are extremely rare as they generally involve the smaller breeds.
