Which country has more lakes than the rest of the world combined?
Canada is home to approximately 60% of the world's lakes. There is no official number of all of its smaller lakes. However, it has 31,752 lakes larger than 3 square km. It also has 561 lakes larger than 100 square km. Almost 9% of Canada's area is covered in freshwater.

Georgia Brown , You are very wrong. I can almost garantee that Canada lakes would completely be bigger than the whole of finland. You can very seldom be less than 100 ks away from a lake (or two) anywhere in Canada except for Saskatchewan, and Canada is huge! Check it out.

Darlene Davidson, Treasure them as we native Minnesotans, do, as well! However we only have one Great Lake, Superior, but it IS the biggest. We also treasure the Canadian lakes. AND my ancestors, on my mother's side were Canadian. Freshwater lakes are my passion, which may be why I studied limnology (freshwater biology) at university
