The country music singer who introduced each episode of the 1979–1985 U.S. TV series "The Dukes of Hazzard" as the balladeer was Waylon Jennings. He composed and sang the show's theme song and also provided narration for each episode of the show.

On the show, John Schneider was Bo; Ben Jones was Cooter; and Tom Wopat was Luke. It was a show about a couple of good ol’ boys that meant no harm, yet were always at odds with the law … practically since the day they were born.

To enhance the series and each episode, there was Sorrell Booke (Boss Hogg), Denver Pyle (Uncle Jesse), James Best (Roscoe Coltrane) and the very popular balladeer Waylon Jennings. In addition, there was Catherine Bach as Daisy Duke, the girl who always wore cutoff shorts. All in all fans reported that when they thought about "The Dukes of Hazzard" they thought about family pride, good people mostly doing good, and good times happening throughout the local community.
