In the US, the film made $1.8 million US dollars at the box office in 1942. It earned a profit of $440,000. Regarding accolades, "Suspicion" was nominated for the 1942 Academy Award for Best Picture, as well as Best Original Score, and Joan Fontaine won the Oscar for Best Actress.
