Ghapama (ղափամա) – is a traditional Armenian dish. Actually, it is a stuffed pumpkin. The dish with slight alternations may be found in the cuisine of many other South European nationalities. The dish is traditionally served during various celebrations and at weddings so that the life of newlyweds should be as sweet, colorful and full as the stuffed pumpkin.

As a rule, this big orange berry (botanically it is a berry!) is stuffed with a mixture of rice, dried fruits, honey and butter and baked in the oven.
