Which is the most populous country never to have won a medal at the Olympics?
Bangladesh is the eighth largest country by population and has competed in eight Summer Olympic Games. They have never competed in the Winter Games. No Bangladeshi competitor has ever qualified for the Olympics; the country sends representatives to the Games thanks to the wildcard process. Bangladesh is the most populous country in the world never to have won an Olympic medal. Bangladesh Olympic Association head Wali Ullah has stated that Bangladesh's weak economy accounts for its poor results in sport.
All the seven larger countries (China, India, United States, Indonesia. Brazil, Pakistan, Nigeria) have won medals at the Olympics.
