The species is the largest feline on the American continents. Moreover, it's the only "big cat" to be found there. They are closely related to Leopards and even have a distinctive spotted pattern on their fur. Its name is said to be of Native American origin, so it can be translated as "he who kills with one leap", as Jaguars are well known for their agility. These large and muscular creatures often kill their victims with one powerful bite.
