Which of the following countries is known as a microstate?
This small country is prosperous and highly developed. Despite being so small, the microstate is one of the most desirable places for people to live in. This industrial power provides its citizens with everything they need. We guess it's not a hard challenge as the population of the country is just 36 thousand people!
What are your thoughts on this subject?

What is a "microstate" and when was the term first used?
A microstate or ministate is a sovereign state having a very small population or very small land area, usually both. The meanings of "state" and "very small" are not well-defined in international law. The college dorm I lived in had 400 people on a small footprint of land. Does that make it a microstate? Definition is abstract and use quantitative statistics.

Bernie McGawley, 1. The term "micro-state" is rather a recent construct, but yes it is very small. The question could have been better worded! 2. Liechtenstein is the correct spelling, it might be worth getting your spelling/details correct before nit-picking over others's comments
