Which of the following countries is not a member of the UN (United Nations)?
Palestine is one of just two nations not to be a member of the United Nations, the other being the Vatican City.
North Korea has been a member since the 17th of September, 1991 with their representative being Oh Joon.
Zimbabwe has been a member of the UN since the 25th of August, 1980. Zimbabwe is a "full member" and they have no intention of leaving the organization.
Lastly, Ethiopia has been a member of the United Nations since the very beginning. Ethiopia helped found the UN and has been a member ever since.
Palestine is not on this list due to be recognized as a state, not a country.

Palestine is not yet a country. Israel has conducted negociations with the Palestinina Authority numerous times but the Palestinians said No to very reasonable proposals. In 2000 in Camp David Yassir Arafat negociated with Ehud Barak, the Israeli Prime minister under teh auspices of president Clinton and after an understanding has been reached Arafat said No. The next negociations took place in 2007-2008 under Prime Minister Ehid Olmert, but these also ended in a refusal. After thet there have been no serious negociations under Mahmoud Abbas, mainly because he is afraid of being assasinated in case he reaches an agreement, just like president Saddat of Egypt, who was assasinated by the Muslim Brothers after signing a peace agreement with Israel.
