"Limitless", a 2011 American science-fiction thriller, is a nootropic-centered movie. The film follows Bradley Cooper as Edward "Eddie" Morra, a struggling writer who is introduced to a nootropic drug called NZT-48. This drug gives him the ability to fully use his brain.

In the movie, facing unemployment and his girlfriend's rejection, writer Eddie Morra (Cooper) is sure that he has no future. That all changes when an old friend gives him a drug (NZT-48). This drug produces enhanced mental acuity. Stoked on the untested chemical pills, Eddie rises to the top of the financial world and attracts the attention of a tycoon (Robert De Niro). He intends to use Eddie to make a fortune. But terrible side-effects and a dwindling supply threaten to collapse Eddie's hopes and dreams.

"Limitless" was directed by Neil Burger and produced by Leslie Dixon, Scott Kroopf, and Ryan Kavanaugh. The screenplay was written by Leslie Dixon, based on the 2001 novel "The Dark Fields" by Alan Glynn. Besides starring Cooper and De Niro, it stars Abbie Cornish, Andrew Howard, and Anna Friel.
