Robbie Williams (born 13 February 1974) is an English singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He found fame as a member of the pop group Take That from 1990 to 1995, and achieved commercial success after launching a solo career in 1996. His discography includes seven UK No. 1 singles, and all but one of his 12 studio albums have reached No. 1 in the UK. Six of his albums are among the top 100 biggest-selling albums in the UK, with two of them in the top 60.
"Life thru a Lens" was Williams' debut studio album released in 1997. Although the album perform well, strong radio play of its fourth single, "Angels", helped to increase sales of "Life thru a Lens", leading to it topping the UK Albums Chart and later being certified eight times platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). "Angels" only reached number four in the United Kingdom charts, consistent sales eventually led "Angels" to be certified double platinum by the BPI.
"Millennium" (1998), "Rock DJ" (2000) and "Candy" (2012) all reach No. 1 in the UK.
