Not quite every time. The 1981 special "It's Magic, Charlie Brown!" showed Snoopy's magic show rained out before he could reverse his final trick, so for several days, Charlie Brown wandered around invisible, so seeing Lucy in the park, he snuck up behind her and kicked the ball from her hands several times. Bratty Van Pelt was terrified as the ball seemingly floated back to her by itself until she heard Charlie Brown's voice laughing at her!
