It is the American coming-of-age period drama film that chronicles the lives of the four March sisters- Jo, Meg, Amy and Beth, The film follows their machinations while they are living in Concord, Massachusetts in the United States during the 19th century.
Emma Watson (born 15 April 1990) is an English actress who has gained recognition for her roles in both blockbusters and independent films. In the seventh film ‘Little Women’ she plays the role of the sister Meg March, the oldest of the four sisters. When introduced, she is portrayed as being unhappy regarding the family’s poverty. She also is viewed in the movie as vain and superficial.
The film was directed by Greta Gerwig (born 1983) who is an American actress and filmmaker whose first solo directorial venture was ‘Lady Bird’ (2017). ‘Little Women’ was her second solo directorial venture. Sony Pictures initiated the development of the film in 2013 with Amy Pascal (born 1958) an American business executive and Gerwig who was hired to write the screenplay the following year.
