Which star appears to be stationary in the northern hemisphere sky?

The attached picture is time lapse photography of the stars in the night sky appearing to rotate around one star in the center. That star is Polaris, also, more commonly known as the North Star. The stars 'appear' to be moving around Polaris, however, the motion that we see in the night sky is due to the rotation of our planet earth.

what I didn't know was a few thousand years ago there was a different north star, and some day polararis will give up the job for another....got to keep moving forward....

In my school days, the geography teacher taught this in this method:- "The altitude of the Pole Star gives the latitude of the place in earth" I only remember this. My knowledge in this subject is very limited!!!!

jack patti go, the stars don't necessarily burn out, it's just that the axis of the earth changes slightly all the time and eventually it points at a different star.
