Which State sent the first female justice to the US Supreme Court?
One of the most powerful ladies of the world is known not only as the first female Justice of the Supreme Court but also as a great lawyer and liberal. In 1981, she was appointed to the Supreme Court by Ronald Reagan and actually lived up to her reputation. Sandra O'Connor has proven to be a decisive and wise person. Arizona has every right to be proud of such notable people!

Sandra Day O'Connor was born in El Paso, Texas not in Arizona.

Her birthplace is not relevant. She was a sitting judge in Arizona at the time of her appointment to SCOTUS. Barry Goldwater should have been a dead giveaway at least for any US member

Samuel Anhalt, A paraphrase of the question is: in what state was she sitting as a judge at the time of her appointment to the Supreme Court?

Yes, they do, in a round about way. Supreme Court justices are drawn from a pool of judges. These judges represent districts within a state. They are state judges, for the most part. O'Connor was never a judge in Texas.

Yes, he would have and he did. Apparently, you don't know that Reagan, himself, was a lifelong liberal, and only ran on the republican ticket because he knew he wouldn't be elected as a democrat after Carter.During his presidency, he raised taxes 11 times. He also was the only president to have granted total amnesty and citizenship to millions of illegal Mexicans. Not only that, but he is also the only president to pass anti gun legislation, which took away firearms from citizens and barred them from buying them. A true

I goggled her after it said I got it wrong. Her bio says she was born Texas. But I guess the question meant where she lived when she was appointed. She was living in AZ when she was appointed.
