Which state within the U.S. has the smallest population?

According to the U.S. Census of 2014, Wyoming is the state with the fewest people. It has a population consisting of 584,153 people. Wyoming as a state is located in the western part of the United States with most of it making up the Rocky Mountains, a large mountain range that is located in the United States.

Wyoming touches on the states of Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Utah, Idaho, and Colorado. It is best known for having Yellowstone National Park.

vonlora, that's what I thought, but just looked it up. AK 732,631 and WY 578,803. According to 2020 census.

Nicole Toma-Tolman, On a Wikipedia U.S. state population page, I found Iowa was 31 in 2010 and 32 in 2020. However, they included Puerto Rico as 29 and 30. Wyoming ranked 52, including the District of Columbia, as well. Thank you, Christine, James' wife
