Which state could be called the "Mother of Presidents"? It depends on how the number is measured. It's literally a toss up between Ohio and Virginia.

Ohio has had six presidents elected from residents within the state borders at the time. With that method of measurement, Ohio's six elected presidents beats the closest competitor of Virginia by one.

Virginia has technically had eight presidents born within their boundaries throughout the years. Three of those, however, moved from Virginia before being elected. Ohio has had only seven born within the state borders. Virginia is on top for that contest.

It's a close call for both claims.
