Which writing system is the text in The Gilgamesh Tablet?

The Gilgamesh Tablet is the single most famous cuneiform text and caused a sensation when its content was first read in the 19th century because of its similarity to the Flood story in the Book of Genesis. Baked clay tablet inscribed with the Babylonian account of the Flood.

The 3,500-year-old artefact, from what is now Iraq, bears text from the 'Epic of Gilgamesh', one of the world's oldest works of literature. Known as the Gilgamesh Dream Tablet, the artefact features sections of a Sumerian poem - parts of the epic mirror stories from the Old Testament, such as the Garden of Eden.

Cuneiform is a logo-syllabic script that was used to write several languages of the Ancient Near East. The script was in active use from the early Bronze Age until the beginning of the Common Era. It is named for the characteristic wedge-shaped impressions which form its signs.
