Cindy Lou is a kind, six-year-old girl who witnesses the Grinch stealing Christmas presents in the 2000 film 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'. Based on Dr. Seuss' book of the same name, the film stars Jim Carey as the Grinch, Anthony Hopkins as the narrator and a selection of supporting actors, including Taylor Momsen as Cindy Lou.

The Grinch is a nasty, green creature, who lives on top of a mountain with his dog Max. He hates happiness, especially at Christmas, and is determined to ruin the people of Whoville's celebrations. Whoville is situated at the bottom of the mountain, which is where the Grinch goes, determined to steal all the presents, decorations, and food. The Grinch thinks that Christmas will not come because of his actions, but Christmas comes all the same. Suddenly, the Grinch realizes Christmas is more than just presents and decorations and his heart grows three sizes larger. Having changed his ways, he returns all the presents to the people of Whoville.

'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' (1957) was the first of Dr. Seuss' books to be adapted into a full-length feature film. Its success the sixth highest-grossing film of 2000.

Taylor Michel Momsen (born 1993), who played Cindy Lou, retired from acting in 2012. She is now the frontwoman of the American rock band The Pretty Reckless.
