Michael Lee Aday (born Marvin Lee Aday, 9/27/1947-1/20/2022 Dallas, Texas), known professionally as Meat Loaf, was an American singer and actor. He was noted for his powerful, wide-ranging voice and his theatrical live shows.

Meat Loaf is on the list of best-selling music artists. His 'Bat Out of Hell' trilogy-'Bat Out of Hell' (1977), 'Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell' (1993), and 'Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose' (2006)-has sold more than 65 million albums worldwide. The first album stayed on the charts for over nine years, still sells an estimated 200,000 copies annually, and is on the list of best-selling albums.

His genres included rock, hard rock and heavy metal. Some of his associated acts included Patti Russo, Ted Nugent and Jim Steinman among others. Not only a vocalist, Aday was an actor. He has appeared in over 50 films and television shows, sometimes as himself or as characters resembling his stage persona. His film roles have included Eddie in 'The Rock Horror Picture Show' (1975) and as Robert Paulsen, a man with testicular cancer, in the 1999 American cult classic 'Fight Club' also starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton. The New York times dubbed 'Fight Club' as the "defining cult movie of our times".

Meat Loaf was critical of the COVID-19 lockdowns, he also opposed masks mandates. Meat Loaf died in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 74 with no official cause of death released at that time.
