Who is the country music artist in the photo?
Randall Hank Williams (5/26/1946 Shreveport, Louisiana), known professionally as Hank Williams Jr. or Bocephus, is an American singer-songwriter and musician. His musical style is often considered a blend of Southern rock, blues, and country. He is the son of country music legend Hank Williams Sr. (9/17/1923-1/1/1953).
Not only a vocalist, Williams also plays the guitar, banjo, piano, keyboards, harmonica, fiddle, and drums. His associated acts have included Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson, and Kid Rock among many others.
Williams style evolved slowly as he struggled to find his own voice and place within country music. This was interrupted by a near fatal fall off Ajax Peak, Montana in 1975. After an extended recovery he grew a beard and began wearing sunglasses and a cowboy hat to cover the facial disfigurement and scars sustained in the fall. This became his signature look, and he is rarely seen without them.
In 1976, 'Rolling Stone' wrote that Williams 'mainstream country material has always been among Nashville's best'. With hits like, "Family Tradition", "Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound" and "Rowdy" along with, "Born to Boogie", he could not be overlooked for major industry awards. Williams has won four Emmy Awards, several Video of the Year Awards, and numerous Grammy Awards, among an astounding number of other accolades
In 2020, Williams was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
