Who is the current youngest Chess Grandmaster?
Sergey Alexandrovich Karjakin (Russian: Серге́й Алекса́ндрович Каря́кин; Ukrainian: Сергій Олександрович Карякін, Serhiy Oleksandrovych Karjakin; born January 12, 1990) is a Ukrainian-born Russian chess grandmaster. He is a former chess prodigy and holds the record for the world's youngest Grandmaster ever, having qualified for this title at the age of 12 years and 7 months.
On March 28, 2016, Sergey Karjakin earned the right to compete as the challenger to Magnus Carlsen in the World Chess Championship 2016 after winning the Candidates Tournament 2016 in Moscow.
Karjakin won the 2012 World Rapid Chess Championship and the Chess World Cup 2015. He also won the Norway Chess Tournament twice (2013, 2014) and the Corus Chess Tournament in 2009.

It is not sufficient to specirfy "current". I am reading this in 2017 when the question is already a year old. The question will still be up next year and the then "current" youngest may well have changed. This should have been anchor dated - "As of 2016, who is...?"

As of June 30, 2021, the correct answer to this question is no longer listed in the answer options. Abhimanyu Mishra has become the youngest ever Chess Grandmaster. Question needs to be removed or updated. But based on a comment plea from 2017 to change the wording of the question, I don't think Quizz Club will do anything.

Sergey Karjakin was 12 years, 7 months, 0 days old when he became Chess Grandmaster.
Nodirbek Abdusattorov was 13 years, 1 month, 11 days.
Parimarjan Negi was 13 years, 4 months, 22 days.
Magnus Carlsen was 13 years, 4 months, 27 days, coming in 4th when he became Chess Grandmaster.

I had to use a hint to get this correct b/c the correct answer, which I admit I had to look up on Wiki is currently Abhimanyu Mishra. The answer has obviously changed since this was first posted. If it was ever correct to begin to begin with.

You cannot use the term "current" when the current youngest GM is not on the list of answer choices. Perhaps the author of thos question should should revise his answers to make it current... and relevant.

I am seeing this in March 2022 and took it to mean now,, so when I couldn't see any name from recent times (last year perhaps?), I had a guess and got it right according to what Stevie had. Otherwise, reading it as 2022, the answer would have been Abhimanyu Mishra United States, aged 12 years.

Who was to know that it would be going to last this long?
