Jon Francis Bongiovi Jr. (3/2/1962 Perth Amboy, New Jersey), known professionally as Jon Bon Jovi, is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and actor. He is best known as the frontman of the rock band Bon Jovi, whose orginal lineup included, drummer Tico Torres (7/7/1953), guitarist Richie Sambora (7/11/1959), keyboardist David Bryan (2/7/1962), guitarist Phil X (3/10/1966), and bassist Huge McDonald (12/28/1951) The band was formed in 1983, and as of 2019, they have released 15 studio albums, five compilations and three live albums. Jon has gone on to release two solo albums.
His and his band's genres include rock, hard rock, pop rock, country rock, as well as heavy metal. He is the son of a former Marine and an ex-playboy bunny turned florist, he has two brothers. He has stated he was a blood relative of singer Frank Sinatra. Bon Jovi was raised Catholic and attended Sayreville War Memorial High School in Parlin, New Jersey.

Jon married his high school sweetheart, Dorthea Hurley (1962) in 1989. The couple has four children.
