Hall of Fame forward Rick Barry is the only player ever to lead the NCAA, NBA, and ABA in scoring. His name appears near the top of every all-time offensive list. He scored more than 25,000 points in his professional career and in four different seasons averaged more than 30 points. He was named to 12 All-Star teams, four All-NBA First Teams, and five All-ABA First Teams.

Even though the answer choices could have been better, as was pointed out Larry Bird and Magic Johnson did not play in the ABA The merger of the ABA and NBA occurred in 1976

It’s a BS question. The year he supposedly led the ABA, he only played 35 games out of 84, in today’s game, he would not qualify to be the leading scorer. I should have checked Dr. J. I knew Bird and Magic were post merger. Still, the support to the answer is weak. I would not have allowed the question. I would have required a better support, like what years, teams and points/game, he led the leagues. Again this is a very weak question. It is not worthy of being in the advanced group.

Pete Maravich would have been a better answer option. Magic and Bird never played in the ABA.
