Pusarla Venkata Sindhu, known as PV Sindhu, is an Indian professional badminton player who was born on July 5, 1955, in Hyderabad, India. One of the youngest and most talented players of contemporary times, Sindhu has featured in the top 10 of the world rankings, for the most part of her career. At the age of 17, she won the Asian junior championships. Having made her international debut in 2009, she rose to a career-high ranking of no.2 in April 2017. Over the course of her career, P.V.Sindhu has won medals at multiple tournaments including the Olympics and on the BWF circuit including a gold at the 2019 World Championship. She is the first Indian to become the Badminton World Champion and the first Indian woman to earn an Olympic silver medal.
Mithali Raj is an Indian cricketer and the captain of the Indian women's national cricket team. Sania Mirza is the first and the only female tennis player from India to win six major titles (three each in the doubles and mixed doubles). Mangte Chungenijang Marry Kom is an Indian amateur boxer and was nominated as a Member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament by the President of India on 25 April 2016. She is the only female boxer to have won a medal in each one of the first seven world championships, and the only boxer (Male or female) to win eight World Championship medals.
