Who is this woman?

Diahann Carroll, born on the 17th of July, 1935, is an American TV and stage actress and singer. After appearing in some of the earliest major studio films to feature black casts as Carmen Jones (1954) & Porgy and Bess (1959). Then Diahann starred in a sitcom Julia (1968) and became the first black actress to play a on-stereotypical role. It broke the ground for all the black actresses, who had only been playing servants before this.

Diahann Carroll have received plenty of stage and screen awards and nominations. She has been married four times and gave birth to a daughter in 1960. Carroll is a breast cancer survivor and activist.

Bill Correa, Nichelle Nichols was not the lead character. Diahann Carroll played the lead in Julia. That's the distinction
