Lee Marvin (February 19, 1924 – August 29, 1987) was an American film and television actor, best known for his hardboiled supporting characters, such as military officers, soldiers and villains. One of the most famous Marvin's works is his role of Detective Lieutenant Frank in M Squad, an NBC crime series. Marvin's unique aggressive nature was adored and highly valued by many respected directors and producers.

In 1966, Marvin received several awards, including an Academy Award for Best Actor, and Best Actor BAFTA and the Best Actor Golden Globe, for his dual roles in the Western comedy film Cat Ballou.
