Who is this?
John Barrymore (February 14 or 15, 1882 – May 29, 1942) is the member of the Drew and Barrymore theatrical dynasties, an American actor on screen, radio and stage. At his early ages he didn't want to keep up his family tradition and tried to become an artist. But, after all, he appeared on stage in 1900 with his father, and his acting career began. He started playing in 1903 and became a recognized actor by 1916. After portraying Hamlet in 1922 John was even considered the "greatest living American tragedian".

Is there a Drew dynasty, then tell us about it. Also, mention John was called The Profile and considered very handsome, then the winers who complain about relatives should realize that Lionel was not the pretty boy in the picture.

Lon Kingery, not being snarky, but could you honestly distinguish between john OR lionel barrymore? i narrowed it down to a barrymore because i knew it wasn't the others. but honestly, to ask whether it's this or that brother? it's ridiculous on the face of it, i think. thanks.

I think John was the one knocked out of bed by the 1906 earthquake in San Francisco. They say it took an act of god to get him out of bed before noon and the US Army to put him to work. He was grabbed and put to clearing rubble by the Army. Good Times.
