Who lives at 10 Downing Street?

"Number 10" is the locale of British ministers since 1735. Every British knows that this building serves as the headquarters of the executive branch of the British Government.

Could you imagine how many important decisions have been taken behind this black door?

Unfortunately, most foreigners have no idea that 10 Downing Street has been the official residence and office of the First Lord of the Treasury for nearly 300 years. This post is held by the Prime Minister of the UK since 1905.

Always odd on how some people remark on American bias in the questions. I seem to understand that the questions are supplied by those who frequent this site. So if you want non-American questions, perhaps try adding some of your own rather than complaining about them?

Terence Tomes How do you know where this site originates? The way they use English, I certainly hope they are not American. It seems to me that they speak English like someone would who speaks it as a second language.

Trevor Craddy there is a flat at No10 for the prime minister, it was either Cameron or Blair that swapped with 11 as the flat was bigger and they had many children.

Bob Krautner, That actually works both ways as I have seen a fair number of Americans complain about questions about other countries. All questions should be accepted and if you can answer them if you can't then learn something new from it
