In 1930 while being interviewed by a local newspaper correspondent, Albert Einstein (1875 - 1955) was asked about his thought process, the type of reasoning and calculation process humans should use to solve problems, and the focus people should use to measure their intelligence.

He said: “The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.” He believed in intuitions and inspirations. He pointed out: “I am enough of the artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.”

Einstein believed that imagination plays a larger role in a person's life than knowledge. He stated that imagination is needed for a person to be creative. He then added, "Without change we can't be pushed to our absolute limit, testing our persistence, determination, and character."

He noted that change will stretch us, bend us and twist us in ways that we never think are possible. Without a doubt, change was always a real test of his psychology; he said that it truly pushed him to explore the boundaries of his mind.

"We cannot measure intelligence in terms of only academic excellence. That will be a narrow approach. The measure of intelligence also determines the ability to respond to challenging and changing situations." Daily, people all over the world face many changes. Einstein was astutely right when he frankly and honestly said: “The measure of intelligence is the ability to change”.
