"Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)" is a traditional Jamaican folk song, which became widely known because of the version released by Harry Belafonte, a popular Jamaican-American singer. Released in 1956, it also became one of the Belafonte's main trademark songs.

The song is considered one a great example of calypso music, a genre that became the voice of the Afro-Caribbean people. As any other calypso song, it tells a story of ordinary men, who are loading bananas onto ships during the night shift and waiting for their work night to end.
