John D. Rockefeller, born in 1839 in Richford, New York, is a famous American businessman, philanthropist and one of the founders of the Standard Oil company. His company was first great American business trust. When kerosene and gasoline grew in importance, Rockefeller became the first American billionaire and the richest person in the world. At his peak, he controlled 90% of all oil of the country!

Note from history: Rockefeller was born to a simple family and had 5 siblings. His father was a lumberman, who later began to earn his living by snake oil selling. At the age of 16 John found his first job as an assistant bookkeeper.
