Who was the first US President from the Democratic Party?
Andrew Jackson (born on the 15th of March, 1767 – died on the 8th of June, 1845) was the 7th President of the United States. Jackson was a General in the military and became a lawyer. He was elected to the House of Representatives and then to the US Senate from Tennesse. He was the first presidential candidate of the newly formed Democratic Party to be elected President of the US.
This might be interesting: Jackson served as president for 8 years. He is remembered in history for many things besides being the first USA President from the Democratic Party. He killed a man in a duel once, became the target of the first attempted presidential assassination in the US history and was the only president to have been a former prisoner of war..

Andrew Jackson, if alive today would be triad as a war criminal and approver of the attempted genocide of the Cherokee Nation. He was also guilty of malfeasance in office and theft by deception of Native American real estate, all in the name of racial purity and western expansion.

We will have a female president some day. I am just glad it was not Hillary Clinton. Neither of the two candidates, Clinton and Donald Trump, were a great choice. But I would rather have Mr. Trump than her. Just my opinion.

Andrew Jackson was a military hero and fighter, his policies toward the Indian nations was very dishonest...therefore, not the great president some believe he is.

Andrew Jackson was quite a colorful figure in his day, with marrying a divorced woman and killing Charles Dickensen in a duel over derogatory remarks Dickensen made about Jacksons Rachael. HoweverJackson was a liar and a cheat in dealing with the Cherokee who had lived in these mountains far longer than any white man who felt the need to force these Native Indians out of their homeland. But thankfully some of my ancestors remained in these Tennessee- North Carolina mountains or I guess this old Cherokee- Irish girl would not still be here happily living at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mtns. these 63 years. Shows that the Cherokee might have lost the battle but not the war!

He was an interesting character and an uncle of mine through his wife's side. Rachel had the surname of Humphress before she married the first time . Like Andrew, she too was colorful. She smoked a corn con pipe in the White House.
