Who was the mastermind behind the Valentine's day Massacre?

The Saint Valentine's Day Massacre is the name given to the 1929 murder of six mob associates and a mechanic of the North Side Irish gang led by Bugs Moran during the Prohibition Era. It resulted from the struggle — between the Irish American gang and the South Side Italian gang led by Al Capone. Al Capone reveled in the fact that he thought he had killed Bugs Moran. However, he missed him by only a few short minutes.

Actually Capone's minions saved Bugsy. They went to the killing dressed up s as cops, and Bugsy, who was late to the meeting, on seeing the "cops" raiding the garage kept away... and saved his hide!

I think Don Vito is correct - Don is a title and Corleone is a surname. You would say Prince Charles, not Prince Windsor, so Don Vito, not Don Corleone.. But Italian titles may be different.

I lived just a couple of blocks from the building where the massacre occurred. Walked past it when I walked to work back in Chicago. Later, it was torn down and I believe what looked like some residence for senior citizens took its place.
