World War I was more deadly than World War II.

Exact numbers are unclear for each of the two wars, but the difference in scale is clear: In World War I about 7 million civilians died (including the victims of a number of genocides) and 9 million military. In World War II civilian deaths totalled 50 to 55 million, including 19 to 28 million from war-related disease and famine. Total military dead: from 21 to 25 million.

WW1 actually never ended,just ceased hostilities until Hitler could formulate his plan in 1921. He was sent to infiltrate the German Workers Party,took control and changed it's name to National Socialist Party. Japan,of course never stopped it's war with Manchuria and Russia as well as the Korean Peninsula.

Woodrow Wilson was a visionary. When some of the European allied nations tried to put just about ALL of the blame for World War I on Germany, Wilson said "we have just opened the door to another war.." Lo and behold, Hitler comes into power, Poland gets invaded in 1939 and the rest is World History..

Just numbers alone don't tell the brutality of both world wars. In the first, medicine wasn't that advanced. In the second, they knew more, but the death of so many for the greed of a madman is unfathomable.
