This question might seem tricky at first glance. But there is a detailed and clear explanation, which proves that zero is, in fact, an even number:
Zero is an integer (in other words, a whole number, like 1, 3, 54, -40). An even number is an integer multiple of 2 (so 6 is even because it is 3 x 2; 2 is also an even number because it is 1 x 2). So zero is also an even number because it fits the definition of "even": it is an integer multiple of 2, specifically 0 × 2.
Equivalently an even number is an integer which, when divided by 2, leaves no remainder: it is clear that this is true in the case of 0.

Zero is NOT a number. It's the junxtion between Positive intergers and negative intergers. Comparatively a modern invention. Did not exist in Roman Numerals.

This answer is incorrect. In order for a number to be an even number it must be a multiple of 2. Therefore the first even number is 2 itself. 0 x 2 = 0.

The early counting systems only saw the zero as a placeholder—not a number with its own unique value or properties. A full grasp of zero’s importance would not arrive until the seventh century A.D. in India. There, the mathematician Brahmagupta and others used small dots under numbers to show a zero placeholder, but they also viewed the zero as having a null value, called “sunya.” Brahmagupta was also the first to show that subtracting a number from itself results in zero. From India, the zero made its way to China and back to the Middle East, where it was taken up by the mathematician Mohammed ibn-Musa al-Khowarizmi around 773. It was al-Khowarizmi who first synthesized Indian arithmetic and showed how the zero could function in algebraic equations, and by the ninth century the zero had entered the Arabic numeral system in a form resembling the oval shape we use today.

No Ken, the question is asking if it is even or odd not positive or negative. Clearly 0 is neither positive nor negative, and it is even. I have a masters degree in math and have spent much graduate work studying and doing research on numbers

Zero is an even number to fill the odd to even sequence. Ask any mathematics professor.
An even number is an integer that is evenly divisible by an integer 2, such that the remainder will always come out to be zero. If on division by 2, the number leaves a remainder, then the number is an odd number.
YES, zero is an even number. An even number is formally defined as an integer of the form n = 2 x, where x is an integer.
