Not sure about the bee question. A mere group of bees is neither a swarm not a colony. In a hive, with a queen, they are a colony. A swarm occurs when they are outside the hive, particularly if they are following a new queen to a form a new colony.

Surely a swarm of bees is when they move not when they're settled in hives or similar?
