Rodney Wilkinson, YOU ARE RIGHT RODNEY. I LIVED IN KOLAR GOLD FIELDS IN THE OLD MYSORE STATE (NOW KARNATAKA), INDIA. WE CALLED THEN BRINGAL AND MADE SPICY BRINGAL PICKLE COMPLETE WITH CHILLY POWDER AND VINEGAR.

Leapy Lee, YES IT IS NOT ONLY THE "APPLES" THAT WERE CRAZY. SOME OF THE QUIZ QUESTIONS TOO ARE CRAZY. ALSO AS A PERSON WHO GREW UP TALKING ENGLISH OF THE BRITISH KIND - EGGPLANTS USED TO BE CALLED "BRINGAL" BY EVERYONE.

Apparently eggplants/aubergines were known in Italy as crazy apples in the 16th Century. That is a fairly obscure fact that I doubt too many people would ever have heard.
