It was easy since I was aware that China, although expansive, has only one time zone ... it’s a communist control thing.

Obviously you're NOT travelling north then! Going from any point due north to another would not necessitate an adjustment.

Xinjiang has the same time as in Beijing. I was in Kashgar back in 1989.

Spike, time zones in Eastern Europe follow country borders and do not follow longitudinal lines. China, although north of Pakistan, is three hours ahead.
