Alfheim is home to the elves of light in which ancient mythology?

Alfheim (“elf home”), in Norse mythology, is one of the nine worlds and is located on the highest level of the Norse universe. It is a beautiful and vast world bathed in light, and is often called Andlang (the vast plains), or Vidblåin (the big blue). It is the second in the spectrum of the nine worlds in Norse Mythology. Also found on this level are the worlds of Asgard and Vanaheim. Alfheim is the palace of the god Freyr and the homeland of the elves of light. They are described as good natured light elves, spiritual and secretive beings who keep mostly to themselves.

Alfheim is ruled by Frey, the God of fertility, who was bestowed with the title of ruler as a gift when he grew his first tooth as a child.

Neither the elves of light nor the elves of darkness, who live in Svartalfheim, participate in any of the events described in the Norse myths. Little else is known about this world and its secretive people. Elves do, however, have active roles in the literature of quite a few of the other branches of Indo-European mythology.
