"Boola Boola" is a football song of which American Ivy League University?
"Boola Boola" is a football song of Yale University. It is not however the university's official fight song; that is "Bull Dog", by Cole Porter.
When Yale’s football team was getting ready to play Harvard University in 1900, a student put together a simple, fun-to-sing song to rouse the crowd at the Yale Bowl in New Haven, Connecticut. The song "Boola Boola" became very popular and over a hundred years later, the song’s refrain is synonymous with old-time college football and great mystery that befits Ivy League school folk of yore.
Yale beat Harvard 28-0 on that day -- November 24, 1900 -- and fans ran on to the field after the game, singing the song "Boola Boola".
