'Bean', also known as 'Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie', is a 1997 British comedy film based on the television series 'Mr. Bean'. It stars Rowan Atkinson (born 1955) as the titular character.

Mr. Bean is a employed as a guard at the National Gallery in London. His clumsy, destructive mannerisms make him unsuitable for the role but he somehow evades being fired. Instead, Bean is selected to transfer James McNeill Whistler's famous painting 'Whistler's Mother' (1817) to the Grierson Art Gallery in Los Angeles. After many mishaps along the way, Bean successfully gets the painting to its destination, only to sneeze on it. While attempting to clean off the mess, Bean accidentally removes the paint from the Whistler's mother's face.

'Bean' is a full length film based on the British sitcom that aired between 1990 and 1995. It was created by Rowan Atkinson and Richard Curtis, with Atkinson playing the lead role. Atkinson described Mr Bean as "a child in a grown man's body".

The National Gallery is a British art gallery in Trafalgar Square, London. Founded in 1824, it houses a collection of over 2,000 paintings dating as far back as the mid-13th century.
