Amityville became extremely popular because of the tragedy as the story of The Amityville Horror can be traced back to a real life murder case that took place on the 13th of November 1974. Ronald DeFeo shot all 6 members of his family - his mother, father, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

The creepy house still exists. It has been renovated and sold for $950,000 in 2010.

I knew this one because I used to live in Amityville as a child. Me, my older brother and some friends went to the house for fun. I was the first one to go in and when I saw a shadowy figure, I was most definitely the first one out.

I knew it was the Amityville Horror House but the upper windows didn't seem to match the upper windows in the movie.

The Hotel del Coronado is a lovely hotel. It is located in San Diego on Coronado Island. The old movie Some like it Hot with Zmariltn Monrie, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemon was filmed there!Betsy Scarbrough,

I knew the defoes my mother sent me to there to deliver a basket of homemade bread a young girl answer the door she went to get her mother I heard so much yelling and then I saw a dark shadow I got so sick I vomited then I ran outside all the way home left my mother bread basket on their floor it was returned by the oldest son i didn't like him at all
