In the television series "The Beverly Hillbillies", Larry Pennel (Lawrence Kenneth Pennell, February 1928 – August 2013) was an American TV and film actor, often remembered for his role as "Dash Riprock". Riprock was the suave movie actor that tried to sweep Ellie May Clampett (Donna Douglas) off her feet.

Dash debuted on "The Beverly Hillbillies" in January 1965; he appeared sporadically throughout the season. He was never able to corral the wild Elly May. Dash (Pennell) performed in 10 episodes in seasons 3 – 7. He was a handsome Hollywood, CA actor who was employed by Jed Clampett's movie studio. Elly May met him while she is working as an extra at the studio.

Dash and Elly May had an on-and-off relationship. Riprock's name was a parody. It was a blatantly fake screen name. A number of movie actors employed this type of name, hoping it would help them get work. Riprock's real name (before being changed by Hollywood moguls) was "Homer Noodleman". He was from Peoria, Illinois.

"The Beverly Hillbillies", an American TV sitcom, was broadcast on CBS from 1962 to 1971. An ensemble TV cast features Buddy Ebsen, Irene Ryan, Donna Douglas, and Max Baer Jr. as the Clampetts, a poor, backwoods family from the hills of the Ozarks. They move to posh Beverly Hills, California, after striking oil on their land. The show was produced by Filmways and was created by Paul Henning. It was followed by two other Henning-inspired series on CBS: "Petticoat Junction" and "Green Acres".
