In the 1999 film, "The Sixth Sense," child psychiatrist Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis) is confronted one night by a former patient Vincent Gray (Donnie Wahlberg). Dr. Crowe had failed to help Vincent. After Vincent shoots Crowe in the stomach, he kills himself. Malcolm ends up lying on the bed with blood pouring out of his stomach, his wife Anna screaming for help ... and then the scene cuts to the next year.

After the shooting incident, Crowe can't stop thinking about it. Sometime later he is hired to help a troubled boy named Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment). He has many of the same problems that Vincent had. Crowe sees a chance to somewhat redeem himself. He does however doubt his ability to appropriately reach the boy, particularly when Cole claims to see ghosts who don't know they're dead.

At the end of this movie, Dr. Crowe and the viewing audience learn the complete truth.
