Epistemophobia is the fear of what?
The fear of knowledge is called epistemophobia. Those who suffer from this fear often act to limit their knowledge and learning. They avoid engaging in conversations, appear to be ignorant, and actively work to be alone, often resulting in some form of social anxiety behavior. Experts tell us that knowledge is something all human beings acquire by everything they experience. Those who have epistemophobia always try to limit the number of experiences that they have to face.
Medical research has shown that epistemophobia is a physical response by those who have developed thinking patterns on how they acquire their knowledge. Their actual knowledge may or may not related to any actual patterns. Almost all people with epistemophobia will try to develop a very specific way of obtaining knowledge. They often show a very strong reaction to what they have learned about themselves.
The fear is best treated by simply teaching sufferers not to fear knowledge or learning because these items are very important and are a part of a person's life. Cures using drugs and medications are designed to tackle the symptoms only, not the thinking that is the actual core of the problem. The most suitable help is applied to changing patterns of thinking.
