"From the Cradle" is the twelfth solo studio album by Eric Clapton, released on 12 September 1994 by Warner Bros. Records. A blues cover album and Clapton's follow-up to his successful 1992 live album, "Unplugged", it is his only UK number-one album to date.

The album also reached number 1 on the US "Billboard" 200 and was a top-ten hit in many countries in Europe, Canada and Australia.

"From the Cradle" won Clapton the 1995 "Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album" and he received a further nomination for "Album of the Year".

Eric Patrick Clapton (born 30 March 1945) is an English rock and blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He is regarded as one of the most successful and influential guitarists in rock music. He ranked second in 'Rolling Stone's' list of the '100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time' and fourth in Gibson's 'Top 50 Guitarists of All Time'. In 2023, 'Rolling Stone' magazine named Clapton the 35th best guitarist of all time. He was also named number five in 'Time' magazine's list of 'The 10 Best Electric Guitar Players' in 2009.
