The film characters of Ned Alleyn, Matt Murdock, George Reeves, and Tony Mendez are all played in major motion pictures made by Ben Affleck (b. August 1972), an American actor and filmmaker who is the recipient of many accolades including two Academy Awards, two British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), and three Golden Globes. With the films, "Shakespeare in Love", a 1998 period romantic comedy film, "Daredevil", a 2003 American superhero film, "Hollywoodland", a 2006 American mystery drama, and "Argo", a 2012 American historical drama thriller, respectively Ben Affleck has performed in the persona of each character previously noted as Alleyn, Murdock, Reeves and Mendez.

Ben Affleck began his career as a child, appearing in several TV shows, including the PBS educational program "The Voyage of the Mimi" (1984). He played an anti-semite in the sports film "School Ties" (1992) and featured as a regular on the TV drama "Against the Grain" (1993). He gained attention for playing the supporting part of a high-school senior in Richard Linklater's cult film "Dazed and Confused" (1993), after which he had his first leading role in Rich Wilkes' comedy "Glory Daze" (1995).

In 1997, Affleck played a comics artist in Smith's art-house success "Chasing Amy". He also co-wrote the script and starred with Matt Damon in Gus Van Sant's film "Good Will Hunting", for which they won the Oscar Award for Best Screenplay.
