Queen Elizabeth's corgis were the Pembroke Welsh Corgi dogs owned by Queen Elizabeth II and her parents, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and King George VI. Elizabeth II has owned more than 30 corgis since she became Queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms in 1952. The Queen stopped breeding corgis in 2015 so as not to leave any behind when she died. Her final corgi, Willow, died in April 2018. Two 'dorgis', Vulcan and Candy, are still alive.

The Queen has been very fond of corgis since she was a small child, having fallen in love with the corgis owned by the children of the Marquess of Bath. King George VI brought home Dookie in 1933. A photograph from George VI's photo album shows a ten-year-old Elizabeth with Dookie at Balmoral. Princess Elizabeth and her sister Princess Margaret would feed Dookie by hand from a dish held by a footman. The other early favourite corgi during the same time was Jane.

Crackers (24 December 1939, Windsor – November, 1953) was one of the Queen Mother's corgis, and nearly a constant companion; he retired with the Queen Mother to the Castle of Mey in Scotland.

In 1944, Elizabeth was given Susan as a gift on her 18th birthday. Susan accompanied Elizabeth on her honeymoon in 1947. The corgis owned by the Queen are descended from Susan. Rozavel Sue, daughter of Rozavel Lucky Strike, an international champion, was one of the Queen's corgis in the early 1950s.

Linda Spreng, You are free to think what you like, but if you knew anything about Queen Elizabeth II and the royal family, you would agree with me. You will NEVER find a real photo of the queen posing with crowns on her corgis. As to the photoshopping, I am in the photography business and I can spot a bad job every time.This is difinitely one. Note the identical straight on angle of the crowns, the exact same positioning of the highlights in the velvet, and the fact that although sitting at different angles on the dogs' heads, there is NO change from one crown to the other. BTW, I am well aware of the queen's sense of humor, but it would never take precedence over or mock the monarchy. Those are her dogs, not her peers! She would NEVER equate them to herself. Get a grip.

Bad choice to use such an obviously photoshopped image. The crowns are the exact same image placed on each corgi. I can't imagine that the queen would ever put crowns on her dogs. It's too frivolous a thing to do and diminishes her position as one who actually does wear the crown!

Coincidentally, I just finished a book about the queen, "Not the Front of the Corgis", she loves those dogs and no one else feeds them but her. They have the run of the castle, and do whatever they like whenever they like. There is staff that follows her and the corgis who cleans up after them. She gets them special attention. I don't know if the picture is real, but from the book sounds like it could be. Apparently, she has a great sense of humor. The book was written several years ago.
