As of 11/26/2019, there are 6 individuals on the International Space Station. As Americans get ready for turkey feasts and other Thanksgiving goodies, three Americans, a European and two Russians are working there now and will be taking most of Nov. 28 off for the holiday.

The 3 Americans are –

Dr. Andrew “Drew” Morgan was selected by NASA in 2013. Dr. Morgan is an emergency physician in the U.S. Army with sub-specialty certification in primary care sports medicine. He is currently serving aboard the International Space Station as a flight engineer for Expedition 60, 61 and 62.

Jessica U. Meir was selected by NASA in 2013. She is currently working onboard the International Space Station on her first spaceflight as part of Expedition 61 and 62.

Christina Hammock Koch was selected as an astronaut by NASA in 2013. She completed astronaut candidate training in July 2015. She is currently working onboard the International Space Station on her first spaceflight as part of Expedition 59, 60 and Expedition 61. Koch is slated to set a record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman with an expected total of 328 days in space.

Other individuals include Luca Parmitano (Italy), Alexander Skvortsov (Russia), and Oleg Ivanovich (Russia).
